INDIAN WELLS--(lawntennismag.com) The 98th ranked American Mardy Fish and 2nd seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia both scored impressive
semifinal wins to reach today's Pacific Life Open men's and women's finals at Indian Wells, California.
Fish, playing an aggressive baseline
game and hitting every ball on the rise with extreme power, stunned world number one Roger Federer of Switzerland 6-3, 6-2 Saturday.

"The guy has been top 20 before, and he’s had big matches before," Federer said. "We know how good Mardy can be. Let’s not talk about 98 in the
world. We know he’s way better than that."
Waiting in the final will be Serbian Novak Djokovic, who yesterday posted an almost identical upset by beating world number two Rafael Nadal of
Spain 6-3, 6-2.
Kuznetsova, in her Friday semifinal match attacked Sharapova's questionable second serves to snap her fellow Russian's 18 match
winning streak 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. A finalist already this year at Sydney and Dubai, Kuznetsova was thrilled with the win.
"It feels great. I don't think Maria played like always she can play. Neither did I. But I think it was a very good, interesting third set."
Kuznetsova meets top seeded Ana Ivanovic of Serbia in the women's final at 12:00pm local time. The men's
final rounds out today's play with Fish taking on Djokovic not before 2:00pm.
