Question: Andy you said this match would be your toughest match. He had it all working tonight.
Andy Roddick: He played well. If I would've gotten through that match, I would have had a good chance of going the whole way. I certainly think he's going to go all the way. I kind of fought him off, fought him off... stayed alive there in the first set. I got my chance at 2-0 in the breaker and missed a couple of shots. You know that was it. In the second set... he got up a set. Someone who's swinging that free, you give them a lead, they're just going to release even more. My chances really came in that first set breaker when I got up and missed a couple of balls there.

Question: There were a lot of close calls that didn't seem to go your way. Did that affect you at all?
Andy Roddick: No. It's going to happen sometimes. You know I think he got some bad ones. I got some bad ones. You know, he just outplayed me tonight.

Question: Andy is his game indoors (unheard)
Andy Roddick: If you look at his career record, indoors I think he's over 3 to 1 in wins to losses, and outdoors I think he's flirting with .500. I definitely don't think that's coincidential. You know, you see his toss, it almost brings rain. If you add a little bit of wind to that, and you know, those huge swings, you add a little bit of wind to that and it's a little bit of a different story. But you know we played indoors tonight. It's no doubt he's one of the best indoor players.

Question: Your schedule (unheard)
Andy Roddick: I'm heading to Dubai tomorrow. And then actually I have Indian Wells and Miami and Davis Cup, and then I have a little bit of time.

Question: Let's talk about this Memphis crowd. I know you've always been a favorite here. You wanted to be here for the weekend but... talk about how this city... this stop always sits well with you.
Andy Roddick: It's nice. You can tell they wanted to kind of help me through there at the end. I wish I won more here. It's probably my worst percentage of winning as far as American tournaments go, including the big ones. You know I wish I could win more, but I enjoy playing here.
