2008 Sony Ericsson Open, Miami, Florida, USA
Miami, Florida, United States
March 26-April 6, 2008
$3,770,000 | Hard court
Day 8 Wednesday | Quarterfinals

Women's Singles: Quarterfinals
Elena Dementieva (RUS) [10] vs. Jelena Jankovic (SRB) [4]
Jankovic leads Dementieva head to head 3-2 last winning at Rome last year 6-2, 6-1, but I think Dementieva is playing better tennis this week. If Dementieva can keep her serve above 70 or 75 miles per hour, I think she can win.
Winner: Dementieva

Men's Singles: Quarterfinals
James Blake (USA) [9] vs. Rafael Nadal (ESP) [2]
In this exciting rematch of their Indian Wells quarterfinal, Blake will seek to increase his head to head lead against Nadal from 3-1 to 4-1. Nadal's solid baseline game will be difficult to overcome, but if Blake can bring his best tennis to the court, he should trouble Nadal.
Winner: Blake

Women's Singles: Quarterfinals
Vera Zvonareva (RUS) [19] vs. Dinara Safina (RUS) [13]
Safina leads Zvonereva 5-2. Safina will attempt to overpower Vera with her hard hitting baseline game. Vera must play more aggressive than she normally does to have any sort of chance.
Winner: Safina

Men's Singles: Quarterfinals
Tomas Berdych (CZE) [10] vs. Igor Andreev (RUS) [31]
Berdych and Andreev have never met before on the ATP Tour. But Berdych, 6' 5" tall has only lost eleven games in three matches and may be in the better form. Berdych's serve will set up this win.
Winner: Berdych
