MIAMI--(lawntennismag.com) Former world number one Lindsay Davenport of the USA at the Sony Ericsson Open Sunday in third round play
shocked last week's Indian Wells champion Ana Ivanovic of Serbia 6-4, 6-2 in what Davenport considered her best WTA Tour match win since
returning to the tour late last year following childbirth.
"It’s quite rewarding," said Davenport, age 31. "I've done pretty well for my age and for what I’ve been through.
Obviously days like today just give me more incentive to keep going."

$3,770,000 | Hard court Day 6 Monday | Fourth Round & Third Round
Women's Singles: 4th Round
Dinara Safina (RUS) [13] vs. Lindsay Davenport (USA) [32] Davenport will not have long to celebrate her breakthrough win Sunday. Today she meets Russian hard hitter Dinara Safina
whom she leads head to head 2-0. Safina has improved since they last played in 2005, but Davenport seems to be on a
roll at 16-2 this year. One loss was an injury retirement in Indian Wells leaving only the Maria Sharapova
Australian Open loss as her only true WTA Tour defeat this year.
Winner: Davenport.
Men's Singles: 3rd Round
Roger Federer (SUI) [1] vs. Robin Soderling (SWE) Federer leads Soderling 4-0 head to head which is not surprising at all since Federer leads almost all players on the ATP Tour
head to head. This year however Federer has been far from his best, posting a 0-3 tournament record. Soderling hits amazingly
clean groundstrokes and is 13-4 this year. He could take Federer to the third set, but Federer should get through if he can
blunt the Soderling power.
Winner: Federer.
Women's Singles: 4th Round
Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs. Venus Williams (USA) [6] Venus Williams has had a rough year so far losing 4 of her last 9 matches. But Venus showed in Bangalore she can still control
her errors and hit winners at key times during matches. She leads Wozniacki 3-0 and should go to 4-0 after today.
Winner: Williams.
Women's Singles: 4th Round
Kaia Kanepi (EST) vs. Serena Williams (USA) [8] 22 year old Kanepi of Estonia distroyed 11th seeded Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 6-0, 6-1 Sunday but has not done much else
this year on the WTA Tour. The two players have never met before. Williams will not want to repeat her three set struggle from Sunday
and will close out Kanepi in straight sets.
Winner: Williams.
