A final powerful crosscourt backhand winner from Isner would end the match; the first meeting between perhaps America’s hottest hotshots.
The 33 year old Isner, currently ranked 10th, reached the quarterfinals in September at the US Open after reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon.
The six feet two inches tall 27 year old Sangren finished as a quarterfinalist in January at the Australian Open in a surprise break out performance.
