Roger Federer Set For Geneva And Roland Garros, French Open, Wimnbledon PARIS-- The eight time Wimbledon champion and former world number one Roger Federer of Switzerland is set to make his return to the professional tennis tour next month on clay in a Geneva, Switzerland warm up tournament for Roland Garros.

The 39 year old's ranking has dropped to eighth after two knee operations. And the Swiss has not played a grand slam tournament since the 2020 Australian Open.

Federer won his lone Roland Garros title in Paris, France in 2009 before skipping the tournament from 2016 to 2018.

Federer lost to Nadal 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals of Roland Garros in 2019; his last appearance in Paris.

champion at this year's Roland Garros championships which begin May 30th.

Since turning pro in 1998, Federer has won 20 grand slam singles titles. However the Swiss this year has only contested two professional tennis matches.

Federer; a versatile all court player, has utilized his attacking net game as well as his equally winning personality to the tune of a reported $500 million net worth.

However Federer has struggled in recent years to match his past successes with his last two grand slam titles coming at Wimbledon in 2017 and at the Australian Open the following year.

Last year's Australian Open was Federer's lone tournament of the year.

The Gonet Geneva Open is set to begin May 16th at Geneva, Switzerland.
