Barcelona and Madrid.

The fifth ranked Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the third ranked Casper Ruud of Norway and the fourth ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece all can surpass Alcaraz for the top ranking depending on their results at the Australian Open.

The 25 year old Osaka announced her withdrawal from the Australian Open earlier this week then today announced she is expecting her first child.

Osaka is expected to miss the entire 2023 tennis season and hopes to return to the tour in 2024.

The four time grand slam champion Osaka is the highest paid female athlete despite a drop in her tennis ranking to a current ranking of 47.

Osaka, rumored to have earned $51 million in 2022 from mostly offcourt sponsorship deals, won the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021 as well as the US Open in 2018 and 2020.

Because of this and her powerful serve and groundstrokes, Osaka is considered by many to be of of the top hardcourt players in the game.
