on the hardcourts at Dubai 6-7(6-8), 6-3, 6-4. Federer won their first meeting in 2005 but dropped their second match in 2006 at Cincinnati.

Roger Federer (SUI)[2] vs. Andy Murray (GBR)[6]
Federer was ranked as world number one one for a record 237 consecutive weeks from February 2, 2004 through August 17, 2008 before losing the top spot to the current number one Rafael Nadal of Span. Murray scored an upset win over Nadal in the semifinals yesterday 6-2, 7-6(7-5), 4-6, 6-4. In his semifinal match, Federer defeated the Australian Open champion and 3rd seed Novak Djokovic 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2.

Murray excels on fast surfaces and reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon this year. He's said the US Open is his favorite tournament. However Federer holds the open era records for consecutive wins on both grass courts (65) and hard courts (56).

But Federer is yet to win a major title this year after after winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open in 2006 and 2007. Both players play all court tennis, but the player who is more aggressive and serves better win will. Murray has a great opportunity today but more than likely Federer will come away with the victory.
Prediction: Roger Federer
