Venus Williams Falls Tuesday At the US Open NEW YORK-- During her months long break from professional tennis earlier this year due to Covid 19, the five time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams of the USA reworked her serve and her forehand. However Tuesday night at the US Open, it was not enough as Williams fell 6-3, 7-5 to the 20th seeded Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic in the opening round.

Williams, who had been 21-0 in US Open round one matches, quickly fell behind 1-5 in set one after committing a string of unforced errors.

The American then rallied to reach 3-5 30 all before striking a crosscourt forehand long to face setpoint.
